Interview Script with N.R. Narayana Murthy
for Time Now Magazine
Reporter : Good afternoon, Mr. Murthy. Thank you so much
for taking the time to speak with us today!
N.R.
Narayana Murthy : Good afternoon. It’s my pleasure to be here.
Reporter : Your journey with Infosys has been an
inspiration for countless entrepreneurs and professionals worldwide. Can you
tell us a little about what motivated you to start Infosys?
N.R.
Narayana Murthy : Certainly. Infosys was born out of a desire
to show that Indian entrepreneurs could create a globally respected company
built on ethics, transparency, and quality. I wanted to build a place where
people could work on challenging projects and be proud of what they were doing.
Reporter : That’s remarkable. You’ve become a symbol of
success through strong willpower and hard work. What role did these qualities
play in your journey, especially during challenging times?
N.R.
Narayana Murthy : Willpower and hard work have been
foundational. Building a company comes with hurdles—financial, operational, and
personal. During those times, I stayed focused on our mission and tried to make
decisions that were both ethical and long-term. Hard work and a resilient
mindset kept us moving forward.
Reporter : Infosys is now one of the world’s top IT
solutions companies. Did you ever imagine this level of success when you
started?
N.R.
Narayana Murthy : I believed in our potential to create impact,
but the scale and reach Infosys has achieved today is truly beyond what I
imagined in the early days. It’s a credit to the dedication and talent of
everyone who has been part of this journey.
Reporter : As a leader, what advice would you give to
aspiring entrepreneurs who look up to your journey?
N.R.
Narayana Murthy : I would tell them to always value integrity,
maintain a strong work ethic, and never compromise on quality. Success doesn’t
come overnight—it’s a gradual result of persistent hard work. Also, be open to
learning, and don’t be afraid to take risks. The journey will teach you a lot.
Reporter : Thank you so much for sharing your insights
with us, Mr. Murthy. Your words will undoubtedly inspire our readers.
N.R.
Narayana Murthy : Thank you. It’s been a pleasure speaking with
you.
SPEECH SCRIPT FOR THE OCCASION OF
FRIENDSHIP DAY
Think about your friends for a moment. Who else
could we call at midnight, share our silliest dreams with, or count on when
things get tough? As the poet Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "A friend is
one before whom I may think aloud." That’s what true friends are
for—they’re the people who know our unspoken thoughts and stand by us no matter
what.
Friendship isn’t just about the fun times; it’s
also about support and loyalty. Friends celebrate our wins, but they’re also
there during the lows, offering encouragement and strength. They help us grow,
pushing us to be our best selves and reminding us that we’re never alone.
On this Friendship Day, let’s take a moment to
cherish these connections. Reach out to your friends, remind them how much they
mean to you, and make time to nurture these wonderful relationships.
Thank you all for being here today, and thank
you to each friend who brings joy and meaning into others’ lives. Happy
Friendship Day!
DIARY ENTRY
Dear
Diary,
How bitterly disappointing
today has been. I thought I’d raised daughters who cared, who would stand by me
in my old age, yet all I saw today were selfish, greedy faces, eager for what
little I might leave behind. Not one word of love or concern, only talk of
possessions and division. They saw me as a burden, something to be rid of.
It pains me to realize how
alone I truly am. How could they forget that I’m their father, flesh and blood?
No longer will I cling to the hope that they will change. It’s time for me to
find peace on my own, far from their selfishness. I have my dignity, and I’ll
protect what remains of it.
