1. Why was the film ‘Maya Bazaar’ watched repeatedly? 

People identified every character of the film Maya Bazaar with someone they knew in their immediate vicinity. So the movie 'Maya Bazaar' was watched repeatedly.

 

2. What was added to the Telugu Dictionary by the film? 

An entire repertoire was added to the Telugu dictionary by the film. For example, Talpam used for denoting a cot or a bed. A new word Gilpam was added as an antonym of it. Similarly, Tasamadeeyulu was termed as an antonym to Asamadeeyulu.

 

3. How did the dialogues and the songs of the movie become part of life? 

The dialogues ‘Manadi Sodara Prema’, antha alamalame kada, hai hai nayaka, hai hai sodara, veyandira veediko veerathadu became immortalized and became a way of life in greeting people. As for songs, Aha naa pelli anta still reverberates in marriages and Vivaaha bhojanambu is yet another must.

 

4. What was the decision of Balarama that made Subadra worried? 

Balarama earlier promised Subadra that he would get Shashirekha married to Abhimanyu. Later, he broke his promise and decided to separate them. This made Subadra worried.

 

5. What does the movie ‘Maya Bazaar’ teach to an NRI? 

The director injects Telugu atmosphere in the Yadava household. He enriched the movie with simile, imagery, adage, sarcasm, and wit. This resulted in a feast for the eyes and soul.

 

6. What was the greatness of the director? 

The director reduces all characters to ordinary mortals displaying all the follies of human beings except Ghatothkacha and Krishna. And then he injects into the Yadava household a Telugu atmosphere. This was the greatness of the director.

7. Why was Savitri dropped from the movie ‘Agnipareeksha’? 

When Savitri was twelve, she was offered a role in the film, Agnipareeksha. She looked too young for the role, so she was dropped from it.

 

8. Who elevated her to the role of a heroine? What made him choose her as a heroine? 

Savitri’s expressions in the song sequence ‘Ranante rane ranu’ in ‘Pathala Bharavi’ were beautiful. A lot of filmmakers recognized 'a potential artiste' in her. So Noted director L.V. Prasad elevated Savitri to the role of heroine in the movie ‘Samsaram’.

 

9. Do you agree that Savitri had little difficulty in entering the film field? Give reasons for your answer. 

Yes, I agree that Savitri had little difficulty in entering the film field. She faced adversities at the beginning of her career, such as being dropped from the movie ‘Agnipareeksha’ due to looking too young for the role. She also experienced nervousness on set during her early roles.

 

10. Do you agree that Savitri got totally involved in whatever role she played? Give reasons. 

Yes, I agree that Savitri got totally involved in whatever role she played. For instance, she played the role of a nurse in a psychiatry ward in the movie Chivaraku migiledi. In a particular scene, the nurse has a nervous breakdown and cries uncontrollably. Even after the director said "CUT", Savitri, who played the role, could not stop crying.

 

11. Which qualities of Savitri fascinate you the most? 

The qualities of Savitri that fascinate me the most are her charm and magnificent acting, her ability to convey a wide range of feelings through her expressive eyes, her amazing talent in the movies, her matchless ease in expression and spontaneity, and her humane concern and generosity to people in need.

 12. How can you say that her passion for films was so strong? 

Her passion for films was evident as she directed and produced a few films despite facing certain adversities in her career.
